HGK

One night last fall, I was talking with my seven year old daughter, Adelynn, and I complemented her that she had been doing really well in school, both socially and in the classroom.  I asked her what had changed because the year had started a little rocky and she had found herself in a little bit of trouble.  She said, “Daddy, when I get frustrated, I just remind myself H-G-K.”  Not knowing what she was talking about, I said, “What is HGK?”  She proceeded to reply; “It stands for Humble, Generous, and Kind.  Three things that it takes to be a great leader.”

After introducing me at the MIBE Summit in 2024, Adelynn was hooked on presenting in front of a large audience.  She asked me; “Daddy - why can’t I have pictures on the screen like you do?”  So, when it came time to prepare for this year’s Summit, I encouraged her to reflect on lessons she had learned and immediately she said; “I should tell them about H-G-K.”  She crafted what she wanted to say to the audience, I helped her type her speech, she practiced morning and night, memorizing it and preparing to deliver it in front of 250 people.  I couldn’t be more proud of her.  For leadership inspiration from Adelynn this week, check out her intro here!

Anthony Lambatos

The Coach — This guy is easily the best-dressed due at the office. Anthony is also the only gentleman who wears a suit in the office, so it comes as no surprise. In addition to dressing well, he’s a master of organizational management. And Excel spreadsheets. If there’s anyone who can get you excited about pivot tables, it’s him! Although he studied business and marketing at the University of Oregon, Anthony received his Ph.D. in running a company at the School of Hard Knocks. As early as he can remember, Anthony was involved in the family business. And now, after years of experience in the good, the bad, and the ugly, he knows how to handle any situation. His leadership, patience, and desire to make those around him better is why we call him The Coach.
