CREATIVITY & FUN

“Creativity is intelligence having fun.” — Albert Einstein

FACILITATOR PROMPT:

This month, everyone will be creating their own Leadership “Coat of Arms”. Explain that this will serve as a symbol or logo that portrays their personal leadership style and brand. Use this brain break exercise to get to know your teammates and to better understand what is important to them. We’ve supplied you with some craft supplies to get you started, but feel free to add anything else that you think your team will enjoy creating with. Pass out a blank coat of arms worksheet for each person, and let your team’s imagination run wild! Some helpful ideas to help them with their creation can include: personal core values, interests and hobbies, responsibilities at work, etc.

Give your teams 20-25 minutes to do this exercise. Then once everyone is done creating, go around the room and ask each person to share a few things about their design.

Discussion Questions:

What are the benefits of reminding yourself and others about your leadership style? In what ways do you want to continue to grow your leadership?

What is one thing you learned about someone else during this exercise?

How can we use this exercise to help us with challenges moving forward?

EXERCISE:

Mixing creativity and fun with leadership-rooted context.
