This week we are in Cabo San Lucas Mexico, celebrating the annual Footers’ vacation with 42 members of our team and significant others. What started as a crazy idea in 2015, has now become a signature event that our team looks forward to throughout the year. It is an awesome opportunity for our team to build stronger relationships, celebrate our accomplishments, and share unique experiences together.

Two words come to mind for me this year as I sit pool side under the rays of the hot sun: “Love” and “Pride”. I truly love this team. It’s a very special group of people that bring joy, fun and inspiration to my life. Spending time outside of work with them is incredibly special and I continue to be humbled that they feel the same way and are willing to pay a portion of this trip with their own money to go on vacation together. The love I have for them and seeing the love they have for one another makes my heart so full.

I have a tremendous amount of pride in what our team has accomplished. Only a year removed from the lingering pandemic restrictions and we’ve bounced back extremely well because of the dedication and talent of our team. I also have so much pride in the people we have. To get to know them personally is special and I’m honored to hear their stories, learn where the came from and understand where they want to go. It’s also really cool that many have so much pride in what they do and who they do it with that they bring their significant others on this trip as well.

The organic team building that takes place on this trip is a large part of why we continue to do this each year. I don’t recommend a company vacation for everyone, but for our team at Footers it’s an awesome way to relax, recharge and have a lot of fun.
